SoLT - Business support services for Society of London TheatreThe clientFounded in 1908, by Sir Charles Wyndham, the Society of London Theatre is the trade association which represents the producers, theatre owners and managers of the major commercial and grant-aided theatres in Central London. They also run several audience development schemes, one of which is Theatre Tokens. The Theatre Tokens scheme was launched 25 years ago and is the only national gift token scheme in the industry. Theatre Tokens can be redeemed at over 235 theatres nationwide and have no expiry date. The requirementDuring the summer of 2005, the Society of London Theatre commissioned OpusVL to develop and manage the Theatre Tokens database and website . The Society of London Theatre wanted to take advantage of new technologies to manage the Theatr Tokens scheme more effectively . It was felt that by making improvements to the supply chain, sales order and fulfilment processes, it would allow the society to concentrate their resource on promoting theatre-going. The solutionTo effect the change required, legacy systems needed to be replaced with a more flexible, cost effective Token management system, integrating multiple sales channels with the supply chain and the fulfilment processes. The new Token Management System integrates wholesale, retail and internet sales channels with third party distribution, outsourced fulfilment and internal finance systems. This provides one single point of reporting for the entire Theatre Tokens business. The resultOutsourcing the development and management of the Theatre Tokens database to OpusVL allows the Society of London Theatre to concentrate on the marketing and promotion of Theatre Tokens, rather than managing the IT process. We still work closely with SOLT and constantly develop and manage the database and website |
