WordPress 3 Open Source Software Released

The latest version of WordPress 3 has now been made available, and with over 2700 changes,  is the 13th major release.  One of the new features in this latest version is the ability to run multiple blogging sites.  Previously users had to use  WordPress MU if multiple blogs were required.

Another major change is the ability to custom post types enabling users to tag their posts more specifically. This new feature will allow WordPress 3 to be used in managing  whole website contents rather than just blogs. A new default theme called Twenty Ten and user interface which allows easy implementation of custom changes to backgrounds, headers and menus, has also been added.
