Firefox 4 Plans Announced

Mike Beltzner from Mozilla has released initial plans for the new and improved Firefox version 4. Details stated so far include:

• A fast browser with cleaner navigation, the power to manage relationships with Web sites and customization features.
• Web developers tools to create quick Web apps, HTML 5 technologies, native multimedia and other developer goodies.
• Built on a platform that’s stable, secure, optimized the latest hardware and armed with more speed.

By releasing details early he hopes to gather feedback from the open source community and generate interest. The beta version should be ready by June this year with version 4 released by Niovember. A 64-bit versions of Firefox 4.0 for Windows and Mac OS is also planned.
