Vocational Education in the Netherlands adopts LPI Certification (Linux Professional Institute Certification)Netherlands's Center of Expertise on Vocational Education,Training and Labor Market has signed an agreement with LPI Netherlands to include their certification within the ICT vocational training. The Centre of Expertise currently supports nearly 90,000 students undertaking some form of training. Vocational training within the senior secondary education will now offer the opportunity of obtaining LPI certifications in the hope of enhancing young peoples careers. The LPI offers real world essential skills on Linux and Open Source technologies for young people to take into the workplace. With many business sectors turning to Open Source, these skills will increase their employment opportunities. The use of open source has been increasing at a rate of around 10% per annum and the need for developers has also risen.
